Thesis statement

Oda Nabunaga treated buddhists worse than his other enemies because of the attitude he had held since his children hood and his conviction that monks were working to oppose him.

The journey of European immigrants (092)

From the picture in making connection. I thought the journey across the Atlantic is terrible for most of European immigrants. It is hard to imagine thousands of people across Atlantic by one ship. I don’t think all of them can get enough foods and drinks in the journey. because it seems the ship have no more place to carry on foods and drinks.  The ship seems very crowd. I think maybe 8 or more people will share one room. It’s very hard to imagine such a long journey in a small ship. If somebody sicked in the journey I don’t think they can get some medicine on the ship, and I think it is difficult to find a doctor too.

Oda Nabunaga

http://www.directessays.com/viewpaper/14414.html

Another troublesome opposition was the powerful Buddhist establishment.

https://circle.ubc.ca/handle/2429/20656

By far the most powerful opposition to the realization of Oda’s goal of a unified country was that put forward by the Ishiyama Honganji, the chief temple of the Honganji branch of True Pure Land Buddhism (Jodo Shinshu). The Ishiyama Honganji was the apex of a huge organization of monto. and it was also the hub of the anti-Nobunaga league that was made up of a number of Buddhist institutions, daimyo, and eventually the shogun Ashikaga Toshiaki. In order to unify the country Oda Nobunaga had to reduce the power of the Buddhist institutions.

It is a book which have some information about Oda Nabunaga’s opinion about Buddhism.

http://wsu.edu/~dee/TOKJAPAN/ODA.HTM

It doesn’t mentioned anything about why Oda Nabunaga hate Buddhism. But it mentioned something about the result.

http://www.samurai-archives.com/ikk.html

Nobunaga would commit a good portion of his military career to destroying the Buddhist fanatics. Now the Ikko-Ikki had been very troubling to Nobunaga. Through force they restricted his movements, not allowing him to gain control of Japan, as he wanted. The rebels also used economical warfare to battle Nobunaga, such as withholding tax and rent. They had also turned their temples into self-sufficient towns, concentrating them in all the places Nobunaga needed to control. Nobunaga so infuriated by the Ikko-Ikki vowed to eradicate them. Or as Nobunaga wrote he would fight Yama yama, tani tani “on every mountain and in every valley”.

Chart on P43 and P45

The chart on 43 shows me that the old people’s population is increased, and the young people’s population is decreased. That’s not means a lot of young people died, but less baby borned than before. People in middle age increased from 1950 to 2000, but decreased from 2000 to 2050. I think that will makes people more busy. Because they have to look after older people like their father and mother, and they must take care of their children too.
Chart on 45 shows me that people in wealthier countries have much better condition to live. They have clearn water and enough doctor. All of that can make them live with health. But the situation in poorer countries is quite different. Half of people in poorer countries have no clean water to drink. And two third of them have no chance to see a doctor when they get ill. 12% children will die before age 5.

Summery for AIDS

Researchers began to knew a new illness name AIDS which have appeared in the United States in 1982. U.S. government and medical experts have at least three reasons for react slowly to AIDS. Many medical experts didn’t realize it was a new disease. And U.S. Government didn’t want to talk about the new disease because it seems cause by people’s behaviours. Though some researchers began to let people knows the basic information about AIDS about how did the disease spread. AIDS still spread very quickly in America and it become a global problem the end of twentieth century. That makes researchers have to found some way to treat and prevent AIDS. But most of researchers didn’t think they could get an effective treatment to cure this disease in the future. Because It hard to give a lesson to prevent AIDS, people don’t want to speak openly about their sexual behaviour. And the most difficult thing is the cost of it is too high. It is very hard to change peoples attitudes about AIDS because most people doesn’t think they will get AIDS because they are not homosexual. Researchers thinks it will be easy to develop the prevention program if every people will understand the dangerous of AIDS.
