1.Colony : a country or area that is under the political control of a more powerful country, usually one that is far away

Eg: Many factors contributed to the eventual success of the American colonies as they revolted against British rule.

2.Concord : 1 formal the state of having a friendly relationship, so that you agree on things and live in peace

Eg: British forces under General Thomas Gage attempted to march from Boston to the nearby villages of Lexington and Concord

3.ammunition: bullets, shells shell1 (2) etc that are fired from guns

Eg:The British took enormous casualties, but eventually took the hill when the Americans ran out of ammunition and powder.

4.casualty: someone who is hurt or killed in an accident or war.

Eg:The British took enormous casualties

5.draft: a piece of writing or a plan that is not yet in its finished

Eg: the delegates at Philadelphia drafted the Declaration of Independence in mid-1776

6.insufficient: not enough, or not great enough

Eg: Supplies for the Continental army were often insufficient.

7.establish: to start a company, organization, system, etc that is intended to exist or continue for a long time

Eg:although the government established by the Articles was limited in power.

8.significant: having an important effect or influence, especially on what will happen in the future

Eg:Both played significant parts in improving the American military’s abilities.

9.occasionally:sometimes, but not regularly and not often

Eg:those who occasionally were British supporters.

10.subsequent:happening or coming after something else

Eg:A subsequent British invasion of the colonies was turned back.
